| [they] will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance Âthe styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way...
1 Peter 3:2-5a
Fashionable clothes, jewelery, beautiful hair, a nice smile, charm... This sounds like what can commonly be found in the category of interests on those online dating websites, right? But how many times have you seen stories about girls who have been abducted by scheming online predators, and all because their innocent minds read lies and take them as truth. How things appear does not always reflect what lies beneath the surface. Although a lady may turn the head of every man as soon as she sets foot outside, inside she is hurting and afraid. None of the things I listed can make any woman beautiful. More attractive maybe. But more attractive to whom? You know the saying "beauty is only skin deep" ? Think about it. Make up, oils, moisturizers, creams, hair serums, conditioners only deal with the symptoms of unhealthy bodies. It is assumed that when they are applied, they will bring restoration.
I recently informed my mother that on my wedding day, I want my hair to hang far passed my shoulders. You know what she said, "You need to start drinking more water and taking vitamins". Why is that? Because she knows that to achieve this desired glamor on my big day, it is crucial that I initiate health by taking care of my body now. The radiance I exude on my wedding day, will testify as the fruit of my efforts. The reality is this, healing occurs and manifests from the inside out. Just as a problem can never be dealt with unless the root of the issue is uncovered and resolved. What is on the outside bares no effect on healing the internal. Heathy eating, healthy hearts; healthy hearts, healthy bodies; Healthy bodies, promote healthy hair, skin, teeth, and nails. What a girl wears is of minute importance. As long as she is cultivating inner virtue, beauty is indefinite! This beauty is the glory of God and refuses to remain hidden. It will overflow the brim of her life and make lovely, everything she touches. This beauty can't help but be noticed!
| Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup is a gift straight from the heavenlies! Thank you Jesus for everything warm and yummy! Yes. Infact, that is all I have for today.

He is all together lovely...all together worthy....
all together wonderful to me....
Jesus makes everything wonderful.
EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT A GRILLED CHEESE PERSON.
| Anyone who knows me knows that I love disney movies! Especially the ones that came out when I was little: Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, 101 Dalmations...all those. And don't forget the classics: Bambi, Snow White, Jungle Book. I love them all. If you think about it they all have a mysterious way of bringing out the kid in everyone. I think it's because we fall in love with the characters and that beegins as we watch and sympathize with them as the story rolls along. Remember the story of Old Gepetto and his little wooden puppet? PINOCCHIO. This is one story in which we all can empathize with.

We all had a beginning, and before, there was a Creator. He skillfully fashioned us so that it pleased his heart.

We recieve life by our Creator and a helpmate (H.S.) We may choose to heed his wise advice or ignore the inward voice.

There is one who wants to stop us. His words are lies and he tries to distract us with common pleasures to keep us from ever reaching the dreams that our Creator put inside of us. Our enemy's aim is to utterly destroy us.

When we listen to the tempter's plea, we stray. We are then trapped by our sinful lusts and disconnected from the dream of our Creator. We are made helpless fools.

When we repenent there is restoration, but there is still grieve, for we must die to ourselves.

There is resurrection and we awake to life everlasting with our Creator!

The Carter's were dog lovers. They had a white maltese named Darcey. Wherever the Carter's went, so did Darcey. They adored the little dog and she was a happy part of the family, they wouldn't dare leave her behind. The Carter's actually did a lot of traveling when they were newly married and had since then traveled to Spain, Romania, and even Ireland! But Mrs. Carter had always wanted to travel to China. Mrs. Carter loved Chinese food and read every book she could get her hands on, trying to retain any information she could learn about it's people, language and their way of life.

When the Carter children were all grown and out of the house, they packed up their things, boarded a plane, and the Carter's went to China (Darcey Carter included). When the Carter's arrived in China, Mrs. Carter was absolutely ecstatic with all the things to hear and see! Though some of the smells were a little much to be desired at times, the beauty of a new culture was delightfully inhaled.
On the Carter's third night stay in China, the Carter's decided to go out for dinner at a little restaurant they had spotted upon their arrival. Mr. and Mrs. Carter got all dressed up and went out for supper. They put a red bow in Darcey's hair and took her along.
The Carter's and their adorable little dog were seated, Darcey on the table, and they began looking over the colorful menu (Mrs. Carter thrilled about the authenticity.) The waiter came to take their drinks, and somehow through choppy English managed to ask if they were ready to order.
Mrs. Carter knew exactly what she wanted and Mr. Carter was going to follow her lead. But first, they had both agreed to make sure Darcey was set and satisfied before they engorge themselves with the colorful Asian cuisine. Mrs. Carter, through hand motions and ill-pronounced, self instructed Chinese, asked the waiter to get something to eat for the dog. The tiny Chinese waiter made a face, but shrugged, picked up the dog and walked out of sight. Mrs. Carter was amazed and thought how impressive her Chinese must have sounded, she smiled proudly, as Mr. Carter marveled at his wife.
Quite pleased with the speedy service of China, the Carter's went on, aimlessly chatting and enjoying the ecstasy of Asian atmosphere. It was no time at all before their small waiter emerged from the back and set their stir fry meal on the table in front of them. It was then that the waiter handed Mr. Carter a doll-sized red bow...

MORAL: Communication is very important. Even if I am reading books and doing everything I can to constantly better myself, good communication not only involves listening, it has to do with the patience and ability to understand. Developing communication skills is key. And like anything, one can only improve by practicing.
**this is my own version of something I heard on tv. Even though it was kind of morbid, I hope you liked the way I told it. And no offense to little-dog lovers. In the real story the dog was a poodle, but honestly, herding dogs, farm dogs, watch dogs...I like the BIG DOGS!

| Day 1
It's not all about me

You know, I think this has probably been one of the hardest things to grasp for me. That it's not all about me. My parents raised me not to be bratty, but I was the only child for almost six years before my brother came on the scene, and I was used to being the center of attention. Now that I'm older and I look back over my life, I remember that my family would have done anything if it meant investing in my future. If it meant forkin out more $$$$ or moving. They would have done it.
Throughout my education I learned that I could do pretty much anything I was taught to do. And I always liked learning how to do new things (except Math) especially if it involved accessing creativity. In high school I played sports, and instruments, was involved with creative ministries at church, writing short stories, songs and poetry, and knew that by the time college rolled around I would know what I wanted to do with my life. Well, I graduated and didn't even go to college and finding a job has been a rather frustrating journey. But what I realized today is that all this time I've been consumed with my own agenda! Since, in my mind, I was good at everything, I could get where ever I needed to go. I didn't completly forget where the giftings came from, because I knew that I couldn't be successful with out Him. Foolish, huh? It was full fledged pride!!!!
The Word say that our gift would make room for us, but in essence, the way I was living said that I didn't need God. I couldn't believe it!!! Not only were the gifts not mine to begin with, they weren't meant for my glory but for God to do as he pleased, when he pleased to do so!! How can an invention declare it's own purpose? So now when I confess the Word over my life, it is ONLY by God's grace, through faith, that I can fulfill his perfect plan for me. I'm tired of being frustrated and trying to figure my life out on my own. Let God direct your life. Holy Spirit keep me in check and help me receive your grace today.

"Everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him." Colossians 1:16b (Msg)
